In Octopus Feast, you control an octopus using a joystick. The journey begins with a single arm, but as you progress and earn money, you can unlock and purchase additional arms, making your octopus stronger and more versatile.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to mastering the game:

  1. Movement and Controls
Use the joystick to guide your octopus through the underwater environment. The movement is smooth and intuitive, allowing you to explore the surroundings, chase fish, and avoid obstacles.

  2. Hunting Fish
Your primary goal is to catch fish to gain experience and earn money. When your octopus approaches a fish, one of its arms will automatically reach out to try and grab it. Once the arm is thrown, it follows the fish for a certain amount of time.

    • If the fish escapes, the process will reset, and you’ll need to chase the fish again to restart the catch attempt.

    • If the fish is successfully caught, it will be stored in your capacity, ready to be sold for money when you return to the base.

  3. Returning to the Base
Once your octopus’s capacity is full or after catching valuable fish, return to the base. Dropping off the fish at the base not only empties your capacity, allowing you to catch more, but also rewards you with money, which is vital for upgrades.

  4. Upgrades and Customization
With the money you earn from selling fish, you can enhance your octopus’s abilities. Visit the in-game shop to purchase these upgrades:

    • Catch Speed: Increases the speed at which your arms catch fish, reducing the chance for the fish to escape.

    • Swim Speed: Boosts your overall movement, allowing you to navigate the ocean faster and catch up with fleeing fish.

    • Tentacle Count: As you progress, you can buy more arms, allowing your octopus to catch multiple fish at once, improving efficiency.

    • Capacity: Expand your fish-holding capacity so you can carry more fish before needing to return to the base.

    • Health: Strengthen your octopus’s durability to endure challenges in more dangerous areas of the ocean.

  5. Leveling Up and Unlocking New Areas
As you gain experience and level up, new areas of the game become accessible. These areas may have bigger and more valuable fish, along with new challenges that will test your skills.
